Mizzou football gets set for road matchup at No. 1 Georgia
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Mizzou football team is getting set for its toughest test of the season as the Tigers will play at No. 1 Georgia on Saturday.
Head coach Eli Drinkwitz addressed the media at his weekly news conference on Tuesday. You can watch his full interview in the video player below.
Drinkwitz did not provide any clarity on the Tigers quarterback situation this week, but he did not rule out Connor Bazelak for the Georgia game. He said he would continue to evaluate the situation as the week goes on.
"Let's go practice Tuesday," Drinkwitz said. "I'll have a lot more answers after today's practice where we're at, and then we'll practice Wednesday and see where we're at, and then we'll find out Thursday where the injury report is."
Drinkwitz elected to go with Tyler Macon at quarterback when Bazelak left the Vanderbilt game this past Saturday. However, Drinkwitz said that was a situational decision. He added Brady Cook is also capable of being the backup.
Georgia is 8-0 to start the season, including 6-0 in the SEC. No team has scored more than 13 points against the Bulldogs this season. Meanwhile, MU is 4-4 on the season. The Tigers got their first SEC win at Vanderbilt on Saturday.
Georgia is 9-1 all-time against Mizzou. The Tigers only win over the Bulldogs came in Athens back in 2013.
