Mizzou’s Manuel leads the MU defense

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mizzou safety Martez Manuel is the driving force of the the Tigers defense. The former Rock Bridge standout is one of MU's three captains this season.

"I think he’s always had it in him to be a leader," head coach Eli Drinkwitz said. "He's always been vocal and passionate about playing."

Manuel is the first Columbia native to be named a Mizzou captain since Hickman grad Corby Jones.

"It means a lot to me," Manuel said. "I didn’t even vote for myself."
