COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Family and friends celebrated the Daniel Boone 12U softball team on Saturday evening, as the team left for its first-ever Little League World Series.

Players, coaches, and fans all gathered at Daniel Boone's fields in Columbia before boarding the bus to Greenville, South Carolina.

The team won the regional championship after going 4-0 to punch their ticket to the big stage. DBLL's first match up will be on August 11 at 9 a.m. against Virginia. The team is made up of a group of 12 and 13 year-old's.

The Daniel Boone 12U baseball team will also look to make it to the World Series, as they will being Midwest Regional play on August 8 in Indiana.
