Drinkwitz wants more energy after day one of fall camp
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The first day of fall camp is in the books for the Mizzou football team and head coach Eli Drinkwitz said he wants more energy from his team.
"Glad ya'll weren't out there for the for the conversation afterwards, I think they are plenty aware," Drinkwitz said after practice.
You can watch full interviews with Drinkwitz and multiple players after Friday's practice in the video players below.
The start of camp marks the start of Drinkwitz's second year at the helm of the squad. In his first season the Tigers went 5-5 in an all-SEC schedule, due to COVID-19.
However, it is a fall camp debut for a few coaches, including defensive coordinator Steve Wilks. The program brought Wilks on board back in January, bringing quite a bit of NFL expereince to the table.
Wilks is in the process of installing a brand new defensive scheme, which was also the focus of Mizzou's spring camp.
Fall camp will run all the way up until August 27th, which is the week before MU's first game. The Tigers open up the season on Sept. 4 against Central Michigan.
