Mizzou brings “blue blood mentality” to SEC Media Days

HOOVER, Ala. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou football team kept it real amid all the flash of SEC Media Days on Thursday morning. In short, Eli Drinkwitz showcased the team's "blue blood mentality," by bringing not one, but two linemen.

“We’re a blue collar community, if you work hard you may not always be the flashiest, Mizzou’s not always the flashiest, but we’re hard workers," he said.

Offensive lineman Case Cook and defensive lineman Akial Byers represented the team in Hoover, Alabama and they both harped on the same message.

“We’re not a flashy school, we’re not known as powerhouse of the SEC," Cook said. "That's where we're trying to get to, but we've got to come in with a blue collar mentality and a workers' mindset because that's what we got to do to have an opportunity to win."

Cook added that he thinks the team's grit and hard work will pay off in the fall.
