Cuonzo Martin names new Director of Athletic Performance

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mizzou grad Marcus Edwards will rejoin Cuonzo Martin's staff as MU's Director of Athletic Performance, following an announcement on Monday afternoon.

Edwards graduated from Mizzou and worked for Martin in his first year, 2017-2018, as an assistant strength and conditioning coach. He spent the past two season as a strength coach for Southern Illinois University.

"Marcus is a hardworking, passionate guy who is familiar with our program and our culture," Martin said in a press release. "He'll be able to hit the ground running. Our progress in the weight room is key this summer as we build for next year and Marcus will be instrumental in getting us where we need to be as a group."
