UM Board of Curators set to vote on indoor football facility

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The UM Board of Curators will vote on the plans for a new football indoor facility at its meeting on Wednesday afternoon.

Mizzou athletic director Jim Sterk said he expects the board to approve the $33,410,000 project. Sterk spoke more about the facility on SportsZone Sunday night.

Sterk added he expects to break ground on the project very soon with hopes of it being completed in the fall of 2022. MU has already began clearly trees at the project site.

According to meeting documents, the project will be funded by donations. However, short-term financing will be used as well since most private gifts are spread out over seven years.

The new indoor facility will be located behind Lot C next to the south end zone facility at Faurot Field.
