Tre Williams commits to Arkansas

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Former Mizzou and Rock Bridge football standout Tre Williams announced his commitment to transfer to Arkansas on Monday night.

Williams left the Mizzou football team late last season after the Tigers beat the Razorbacks in the Battle Line Rivalry game. Before the game, the Mid-Missouri native was honored on senior day after spending five years with the program. Williams had 8.5 sacks and 85 tackles during his Tiger tenure.

Due to the COVID-19 waiver - Williams will have one year of eligibility to play for the Razorbacks. It will be his sixth year in college.

Williams will reunite with former MU football coach Barry Odom, who is now the defensive coordinator at Arkansas. He'll also join his former teammate Markell Utsey in Fayetteville. Utsey recently committed to transfer to Arkansas as well.
