Mizzou Athletics announces another anonymous seven-figure gift

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mizzou Athletics announced it received a $1.1 million donation on Tuesday afternoon. This is ninth seven-figure or higher gift for MU in the current fiscal year.

The donor wished to remain anonymous, but athletic director Jim Sterk released the following statement in a release.

"This individual has been a Mizzou fan his entire life, has tremendous passion for his Tigers and has been very successful in the business world," Sterk said. "He is extremely excited about the future of Mizzou Football under Coach Drinkwitz' leadership and wanted to help us make the new indoor practice facility a reality for future Tigers to utilize."

According to the release, MU will use the donation to help fund the football team's new indoor practice facility. It will also go toward the Tiger Scholarship Fund and other scholarship aid for student-athletes.
