MLB moves 2021 All-Star Game, Draft out of Atlanta

ATLANTA, Ga. (KMIZ)

Major League Baseball announced it will be moving the 2021 All-Star Game and 2021 Draft out of Atlanta in response to a recent voting law passed by the state of Georgia.

The law received criticism from civil rights groups and President Biden for restricting voting access for residents in the state.

In a statement MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred said the league is still in the process of picking a new host city.

"I have decided that the best way to demonstrate our values as a sport is by relocating this year's All-Star Game and MLB Draft," he said in that statement.
