Dru Smith’s reverse layup lifts Mizzou over Florida

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (KMIZ)

Mizzou guard Dru Smith's reverse layup in the final seconds lifted the Tigers over Florida on Wednesday night. The Tigers beat the Gators on the road 72-70.

Mizzou had five players in double-figures. Dru Smith led the way with 17 points and nine assists. Xavier Pinson had a nice bounce back performance after struggling recently. He finished with 14 points. Mitchell Smith had a career-high 14 points as well.

Mizzou was up 36-29 at halftime. Florida came back to tie the game at 70 with under a minute to go, but MU was able to hang on for the victory.

The Tigers improve to 15-7 overall and 8-7 in the SEC.

Up next - Mizzou will close out the regular season on Saturday at 2 p.m. against LSU. The Tigers will honor their five seniors after the game.
