Mizzou falls to No. 24 Georgia

COLUMBIA, Mo (KMIZ)

The Mizzou women's basketball team dropped to 7-9 on the season, with an 18-point loss to No. 24 Georgia on Sunday.

Before the game, Mizzou Athletics confirmed that standout guard Aijha Blackwell would miss the game due to a foot injury.

There is no word yet on when Blackwell will rejoin the team on the court.

Mizzou led throughout much of the first half, however, the Bulldogs finished the half on an 11-0 run, which knotted the game at 35 points apiece.

After the break, Georgia came out firing, improving their field goal percentage by six percent.

Gabby Connally went off for nine points in the second half, which added on to her team-high 29 points.
