Osage senior signs with Illinois after a strange season

OSAGE BEACH, Mo (KMIZ)

Osage offensive tackle Brody Wisecarver made it official with the Fighting Illini on Wednesday, as he signed his national letter of intent.

The four-star recruit originally played for Desmet High School in St. Louis, but transferred to Osage in the fall of 2020.

St. Louis delayed the started of high school sports by several weeks, due to COVID-19 concerns. As a result, Wisecarver made the move to Osage Beach so he could finish out his senior season on the football field.

"It wasn't really hard leaving and making new friends, it was just like...I felt like I was accepting walking into that next chapter earlier," he said. "Instead of saying goodbye to all of my friends at the end of my senior year, walking to college, I said bye junior year and now I'm finishing my senior year."

He had several power-five offers, including Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia, and Iowa State.
