MU to move forward with planning for new indoor facility

COLUMBIA, Mo (KMIZ)

The UM Board of Curators unanimously voted to approve a "pre-design" of a new indoor practice facility on Sunday.

The board will meet again no later than Jan. 30 to discuss a plan.

Mizzou athletic Jim Sterk said a new facility has been on the mind of Mizzou Athletics for a long time, dating all the way back to when Gary Pinkel coached the football team.

Devine Pavilion, which was built in 1998, is the only indoor practice for MU athletic programs.

Sterk said the facility poses many challenges to student-athletes and coaches.

We spoke with Jim Sterk, following the Board's decision. You can watch the full interview in the video player below.
