Mizzou women find leadership in their season-opening win

COLUMBIA, Mo (KMIZ)

The Mizzou women's basketball started off their season with a 96-78 win over North Alabama on Friday night.

Robin Pingeton's squad featured two players with double-doubles on the night.

Hayley Frank claimed her first-ever double-double, with a team-high of 24 points and 11 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Blackwell finished the night with 21 points and 10 rebounds.

"From top to bottom there's a lot of maturity there and we peeled back the layers after last year's season and just really evaluated and self-reflected and talked about what we wanted this look like moving forward," Pingeton said. "We might bend, but we don't break and I a lot of confidence in the leadership of this team and I'd say these two ladies to my right and left are a huge part of that."
