Drinkwitz: “I highly anticipate some pecan pie”

COLUMBIA, Mo (KMIZ)

The Mizzou football team did not take Thanksgiving off, as Eli Drinkwitz led practice on Thursday morning.

After the 9:00 A.M. run-through, the team shared a Thanksgiving meal.

Drinkwitz added that after practice has was going to go home and eat with his family.

"After the nap I anticipate some pecan pie. I'll get a little sliver, just a little sliver of pumpkin pie, so I make sure I have that for the day. Then, we'll come back that night and have a little team activity with our guys. For the guys who haven't been able to get home, we'll make sure we have another Thanksgiving together, so they're not alone," he said.

The Tigers will host Vanderbilt on Saturday afternoon. Arkansas, their original opponent, rescheduled their matchup due to COVID-19.

"I sent coach [Sam] Pittman a text last night about 11:45 and said his butt better be awake, he can't be at home sleeping since we had to change our game plan," Drinkwitz said. "He thought that was pretty funny, but yeah that's what I'll be doing."
