Local athletes make it official on national signing day

COLUMBIA, Mo (KMIZ)

Many Mid-Missouri athletes signed their letters on intent on Wednesday afternoon.

Tolton pitcher Paige Bedsworth capped off a historic year by signing with Drake University.

The senior made history in many ways in her final season, including breaking the state record for career strikeouts and bring the Trailblazers their first softball state championship.

Rock Bridge softball standout Maddie Snider signed with Mizzou, after her history-making season with the Bruins.

Snider's squad won Columbia's first-ever state championship in softball.

Snider will be joined on the Mizzou squad by Jefferson City's Kara Daly . The senior finished first-team all-state in her final season with the Jays.

Many signed their letters of intent to play basketball at the next level, including a couple of fellow Jays.

Sarah Linthacum will join her sister Micah at Mizzou, as held her signing ceremony on Wednesday afternoon.

Fellow Jefferson City senior Hannah Nigles also held her ceremony, as she signed with the Drake University women's basketball team.

Back in Boone County, Southern Boone all-state pitcher Ethan Osborne signed to play baseball at Southeast Missouri State.
