Rock Bridge claims second cross country state title

COLUMBIA, Mo (KMIZ)

The Rock Bridge boys cross country team claimed the second state title in school history on Saturday.

The Bruins finished with 109 points, which was more than 15 points better than the second place finisher.

Senior Matthew Hauser was the individual state champion, with a time of 15:34.5, which was mere seconds from the second place finisher.

Hauser's teammates also brought in top-15 finishes. Ian Kemey came in 7th place, while Andrew Hauser rounded it out in 12th place.

The Hickman boys also finished up their season in 10th place.

On Saturday morning the class five girls also ran in their championship race.

The lady Bruins took 4th place, with Carolyn Ford bringing in their top finish in 15th place.

Hickman's Peri Welch also notched a top time in 14th place.
