Chiefs to close facilities due to COVID-19

KANSAS CITY, Mo (KMIZ)

The Kansas City Chiefs said one staff member has tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday morning.

The club said the person is self-quarantining, but the team is now under the NFL's COVID protocols.

"The Chiefs will hold practice this morning and then out of precaution, the facilities will be closed this afternoon and meetings will be held virtually," the team said in a statement.

Kansas City said it will continue to prepare for Sunday's matchup against the Carolina Panthers.

There is no word on the status of that game.
