Le’Veon Bell’s first practice with Kansas City is in the books

KANSAS CITY, Mo (KMIZ)

Former New York Jets running back Le'Veon Bell finished his first practice with the Kansas City Chiefs on Wednesday.

Bell signed with Kansas City on October 15, after the Jets released him from the team.

Head coach Andy Reid said the team is going to take it day-by-day when it comes to what Bell's role will be come Sunday.

"We just have to have good communication between us, coach and player, just to see exactly where he's at," he said. "He'll get into practice and we'll see how it goes."

The Chiefs have already had a pretty big presence in the backfield this season, with rookie running back Clyde-Edwards Helaire.

But, Patrick Mahomes said competition is healthy and, in this club, it's wanted.

"If you look at how Veach and Coach Reid have kind of put this culture together, it's about bringing in great players and breeding competition," he said. "We're excited for him to be in there, be a part of the team, be a part of the culture of winning, and being able to go out there every single week and keep getting better and better."
