Scherzer’s 11 K’s not enough in MLB Opener

Former Mizzou baseball star Max Scherzer threw the first pitch of the 2020 MLB Season. 267 days removed from winning Game Seven of the 2019 World Series, the Washington Nationals were back on the field to host the New York Yankees.

The Yankees beat Washington 4-1 on Thursday night. The game was called in the sixth inning due to bad weather.

Scherzer pitched 5.1 innings - giving up four earned runs. He struck out 11 batters, but he takes the loss to move to 0-1 on the season.
