Mizzou athletics gives second COVID-19 update

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mizzou athletics gave its second update on its COVID-19 testing results on Wednesday.

An MU spokesperson confirmed ten total student-athletes and staff have now tested positive for COVID-19 since testing began back in June.

Important note - this is not ten new cases, just ten total cases.

MU announced five total cases back on June 25, so this is an increase of five positive cases since then.

The MU spokesperson said nine of the positive cases are student-athletes, and one of them is a staff member.

So far, Mizzou Athletics has conducted 377 tests and 367 of those tests have come back negative. That equates to a positivity rate of roughly 2.6%.

The MU spokesperson said of the 10 student-athletes and staff who have tested positive - most of them are fully recovered. A few of them are still isolating, but they are doing fine.
