COLUMBIA, Mo (KMIZ)

Mizzou Athletics said Thursday afternoon five athletes have tested positive for COVID-19 since players were allowed back on campus on June 8.

In a tweet, MU Athletics said 308 student-athletes were tested for COVID-19. Of the five positive cases, four had no symptoms, the tweet said.

The University has not released any further details on which student-athletes tested positive.

MU Athletics emphasized the safety measures taken since voluntary workouts began, specifically involving the football team. Players and staff remain six feet apart during workouts and have their temperature taken upon entering the facilities.
