Mizzou WBB lands commitment from four-star guard

BATESVILLE, Ark. (KMIZ)

Four-star guard Izzy Higginbottom committed to play for the Mizzou women's basketball team on Monday night.

The Batesville, Ark. native is the No. 13 point guard and No. 57 overall prospect in the Class of 2021, according to ESPN's rankings.

"Over this quarantine, I’ve really been able to sit down and think about my decision," Higginbottom said in an interview with KAIT-TV. "The SEC is home for me. I just really love everything Coach Pingeton stands for and her values, and I feel like Mizzou’s system is a great fit for me."

Higginbottom led Batesville High School to a state championship in 2019. She'll finish out her high school career for the Lady Pioneers next year.

"She can handle the ball so well and her ability to score is just tremendous," Higginbottom's high school basketball coach Stan Fowler said in an interview with KAIT-TV.

Higginbottom is the third MU commitment in the Class of 2021. She joins Jefferson City standout Sarah Linthacum and Kiya Dorroh, a five-star prospect from Tuscon, Arizona.
