A house near Hallsville was struck by lightning around 7:30 a.m. Thursday, causing a fire and around $50,000 in damage. Authorities with the Boone County Sheriff’s Department revealed a South Columbia gas station has fallen victim to a skimming device on one of its gas pumps.
