WATCH: Parson signs income tax cut, farm tax break bills

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Gov. Mike Parson signed off on the products of the special legislative session Wednesday.

Parson held a ceremony for his signing of bills that will enact a $1 billion personal income tax cut and the extension of $40 million worth of tax breaks for farmers. The bills were passed in a special session that began last month -- the Senate passed its final bill Tuesday.

The income tax cut will drop the top tax bracket from 5.2% to 4.95%. Parson said in a news release that most Missourians will get about a 5% reduction in their tax burden.
