Missouri's highest court is set to hear oral arguments in an appeal after a 2018 sunshine request into the governor's campaign contributions.

Elad Gross sued the Missouri governor’s office after he was told that a sunshine request for emails and other documents from the office would cost him about $3,600.

He requested Gov. Mike Parson’s office produce roughly 13,000 documents.

Gross alleged the governor’s office charged excessive fees and failed to comply with the statutory requirements for explaining any delay in providing the requested documents.

The governor’s office denied and filed a motion for judgment on the pleadings. After a hearing, the circuit court sustained the motion and dismissed the action.

Gross has appealed this circuit court ruling.

Oral arguments in the appeal are scheduled for 9 a.m. on Wednesday and due to COVID-19, will be held virtually.
