Local businessman files for Ward 6 Columbia City Council

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

In a press release, Randall L. (Randy) Minchew says he has filed paperwork with the City of Columbia for his candidacy to be the Sixth Ward member of the Columbia City Council.

“Columbia, Missouri is blessed with brilliant and benevolent people who love this city like no other. I believe the people who call Columbia their home are our greatest asset,” Minchew said in a recent interview. “As a city leader, I will work to empower individuals and businesses, and I'll fight for their rights as citizens and engines of economic development.”

Minchew currently serves as the COO of DeLine Holdings. Minchew currently serves as a board member at Grade A Plus and Phoenix Programs.

The Sixth Ward is the southeast portion of Columbia. Currently, the Sixth Ward city council member is Betsy Peters. Peters told ABC 17 News she plans on running for a third term. Peters was first elected since 2015 and won re-election in 2018.

Minchew previously ran to represent the 6th ward in 2015 before dropping out.

Candidate filing closes on Jan. 21, 2021.
