QUESTION OF THE DAY: Should states enforce immigration laws?
Immigration law has long been seen as the sole domain of the federal government.
However, some states are challenging federal hegemony in immigration enforcement. Texas is in a legal showdown with immigration officials and Georgia legislators just passed a similar law.
Missouri Gov. Mike Parson has sent National Guard troops and state highway patrol troopers to Texas to help with that state's immigration enforcement program.
