Missouri held municipal and school board elections Tuesday.

Despite the closeness of elected bodies such as school boards and city councils to voters' everyday lives, turnout for April elections is almost always depressed. Only 13.7% of Boone County voters cast ballots.

  1. As a rule I never vote for a candidate, and not often on an issue, since many such issues are so contorted they become nearly meaningless.
Who gets elected? The most eager for power, willing to do whatever is necessary to acquire it. Ethics be damned. Moral foundation be damned. Truth be damned.
