Many congressional Democrats have pushed for most adults to get $1,400 apiece from the new coronavirus stimulus package, with payments phasing out at higher income levels.

However, this week President Joe Biden gave in to demands to lower the income limit for payments, telling his party to compromise on the package. Republicans have pushed for tighter limits as a way to shrink the package's $1.9 trillion price tag.

The new proposal would phase out payments for individuals making $80,000 and households making $160,000. The previous proposal included limits of $100,00 for individuals, $150,000 for single parents and $200,000 for households.

Do you think payments should phase out based on income? Vote in the poll below.
