I-70 to narrow in Cooper County next week

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Two segments of Interstate 70 in Cooper County will narrow to one lane next week for drilling, according to a Friday press release from the Missouri Department of Transportation.

The release says that the driving lane of westbound Interstate 70 near mile marker 113 will be closed 8 p.m.-7 a.m. each night from Monday through Friday, Feb. 28.

The eastbound driving lane will be closed near mile marker 101 – west of Highway 5 – from 8 a.m.-2p.m. Tuesday.

The release says that this road work is part of the Improve I-70 Project, which aims to make Interstate 70 three lanes across the state. The portion between Boonville and Rocheport will begin construction in 2026 and will be completed in late 2027, the release says.
