Highway 54 to narrow to one lane in Osage Beach on April 24

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A large construction project for several bridge on Highway 54 in the Lake of the Ozarks area will begin Monday.

One lane of Highway 54, each direction, is expected to remain open throughout the duration of the project, though some ramp and local road closures may be necessary.

The planned progression of work includes:

Phase 1: Monday and Tuesday, Westbound Highway 54 at the Grand Glaize Arm of the Lake of the Ozarks, daylight hours:

  • The driving lane of westbound Highway 54 at the Grand Glaize Arm of the Lake of the Ozarks Bridge closed for roadside work.
  • The westbound Highway 54 ramp to Jeffries Road will also be closed. Motorists should continue to the next exit (Case Road), turn south to cross the bridge, use the ramp to Highway 54, and exit at Osage Beach Parkway to access Jeffries Road.

Phase 2: Wednesday, April 26- Friday, May 5 eastbound Highway 54 at the Grand Glaize Arm of the Lake of the Ozarks.

Phase 3: Monday, May 8-mid May, Westbound Highway 54 at the Grand Glaize Arm of the Lake of the Ozarks.

Phase 4: Mid-May-May 26, Niangua Arm Bridge.

Phase 5: Includes preservation treatments to the overpasses in Osage Beach. Those treatments are planned for later this summer and more information will be shared as it becomes available.
