20-year-old man dies in Maries County motorcycle crash

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A 20-year-old Vienna man died Monday in a crash on Highway 42 in Maries County, just west of Route Z, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

According to the report, the crash occurred as the rider of a 2003 Suzuki Motorcycle was heading eastbound, failed to negotiate a curve and went off the right side of the road. The bike and rider hit a tree and fence. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by the Maries County deputy coroner, the report says.

MSHP crash reports do not name the victims in crashes. The driver was wearing a helmet, according to the report. He was brought to Birmingham Martin Funeral Home in Vienna, the report says.

The bike was totaled.
