St. James woman killed in single-vehicle crash

ST. JAMES, Mo. (KMIZ)

A woman from St. James was killed after being involved in a single-vehicle crash on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Debra Patton, 64, of St. James was driving westbound on Highway 8, two miles from city limits at 2:48 p.m. when the crash happened.

Troopers said Patton was driving a 2018 Lincoln MKC when she went off the side of the road, hit an embankment and flipped over.

She was taken to Phelps Health Hospital where she was pronounced dead less than an hour later, according to the Highway Patrol.

According to the crash report, she was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
