Columbia teenager arrested, accused of DWI after Wednesday crash in Cooper County

COOPER COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested an 18-year-old after a crash in Cooper County on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the crash report, Jameson McAnelly, 18 of Columbia, was driving his 1997 Ford Ranger on Highway 41 at 5 p.m. Wednesday when he went off the right side of the road and the truck flipped over.

An MSHP arrest report says McAnelly was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and not wearing a seatbelt.

He was released for medical treatment and taken to University Hospital in serious condition.

An MU Health Care spokesperson said in an email that said McAnelly was treated and then released onThursday morning.
