Woman seriously injured in Callaway County crash

MILLERSBURG, Mo. (KMIZ)

A woman was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash Tuesday in Callaway County on Route WW, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

According to the report, the crash occurred as Julie Schafer, 43, of Florissant, was heading eastbound in her 2003 Dodge Caravan and failed to negotiate a turn. The Dodge then went off the roadway, hit an embankment and overturned, the report states.

Schafer had serious injuries and was brought to University Hospital by ambulance, the report states. She was wearing a seatbelt. A spokesperson at MU Health Care told ABC 17 News that she is in fair condition. The Dodge was totaled.
