Old Highway 63 South closed briefly Wednesday morning due to single vehicle crash

Old Highway 63 South was closed for about 45 minutes Wednesday morning due to a single vehicle crash.

Columbia Fire Department and Columbia Police Department responded to Old Highway 63 South near Hominy Branch Ct. around 5 a.m. to find a severely damaged vehicle.

Two dead deer were seen in the road near the damaged vehicle and Columbia Fire told our crews on scene it appeared the two deer were hit by the vehicle.

ABC 17 news crews saw one fire engine with crews cleaning blood and debris off the road, two CPD vehicles and a tow truck.

Officers on scene were unable to give information if those who were in the vehicle were injured or not.

First responders cleared the scene at around 5:50 a.m.
