Troopers identify motorcyclist killed in crash during chase

MONTGOMERY CITY, Mo. -

Troopers identified a motorcyclist who was killed in a crash that happened during a chase in Montgomery City on Thursday.

According to the crash report, the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office was pursuing a motorcycle that was driven by Kyle Barnes, 29, of Truxton.

The crash happened just before 4 p.m. on Highway 19 near Industrial Park Drive.

According to a crash report, deputies were chasing the motorcycle when a truck tried to make a left turn. The motorcycle crashed into the side of the truck, which was being driven by a 16-year-old.

Troopers said the coroner pronounced Barnes dead at the scene. The other driver was not hurt.

A viewer sent photos of the crash at Industrial Park Drive near South Sturgeon Street. The photos show several sheriff's deputies' cars around the scene of the crash.

ABC 17 News has asked Montgomery County Sheriff's Office for more details on the crash.
