Authorities identify woman killed in crash on South Rangeline Road

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Boone County Sheriff's Office said Ashley Wegner, 33, was killed in a single-vehicle crash Thursday.

Authorities shut down Rangeline Road south of East Carter School Road after a crash around 7:30 p.m.

According to a Facebook post by the sheriff's office, Wegner was driving a Honda minivan northbound when she lost control in the 200 block of South Rangeline Road. The 911 call indicated the van went off the road, overturned, and crashed into a residence.

The sheriff's office said excessive speed is believed to be a contributing factor in the crash.

Wegner was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. She died at the scene after being ejected from the van.

No one else was in the minivan at the time.
