Woman in serious condition after Cooper County crash

KMIZ

COOPER COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Warsaw, Mo. woman is in serious condition Tuesday morning after a crash on Interstate 70 West in Cooper County Tuesday.

Paula Priesmeyer, 57, had serious injuries after the crash near the 114 mile marker, state troopers said.

The patrol's crash report said Priesmeyer and 33-year-old Derek Kniptash were both driving west on the interstate around 6 p.m.

According to the report, Kniptash's truck was pulling a trailer which the report said had been improperly secured and caused Priesmeyer to drive off the right side of the road.

Her vehicle hit a guardrail, crossed the roadway and crashed into some median cables, the report said.

Troopers said Priesmeyer was not wearing a seatbelt at the time.

University of Missouri hospital officials said Priesmeyer was in serious condition.

It's the second crash in as many days on I-70 West in Cooper County.
