Crash near Missouri River Bridge closes lane of I-70

ROCHEPORT, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Missouri Department of Transportation said Wednesday afternoon a crash near the Missouri River Bridge closed a westbound lane of Interstate 70.

Expect delays on westbound I-70 at mile marker 115, near Rocheport, due to a vehicle crash. One lane is expected to be closed for the next hour. Please slow down, consider taking alternate routes and stay updated with the Travelers Map. pic.twitter.com/6yhmBpvKFF

A MoDOT tweet said the lane could be closed until 3:30 p.m. Crews didn't say how many vehicles were involved in the crash if any people were hurt.

Boone County Joint Communications tweeted at 2:17 p.m. the wreck happened on the east end of the bridge.

Crews said drivers should avoid the area if possible.
