Springfield woman dies after crash near Lake of the Ozarks

CAMDEN, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Springfield, Missouri woman died after a three-vehicle crash that happened on March 15.

A spokesman for University of Missouri Hospital said 18-year-old Valissa Corado was pronounced dead after the crash.

Hospital officials said Corado was in critical condition on March 16. An obituary from Holman Howe Funeral Homes said she passed away on March 19.

Two others involved in the crash were taken to the hospital. Troopers said Corado's passenger 19-year-old Jake Reed had moderate injuries. The report shows 71-year-old Gary Rooks had minor injuries.

The crash report said Rooks' truck crashed into Corado's car as he moved over to avoid hitting a state trooper turning onto Highway 5.

The report shows the trooper wasn't hurt, but the patrol vehicle was damaged.
