Columbia crews are working a crash that closed Providence Road southbound at the Green Meadows Road intersection Friday night.

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Columbia crews responded to a crash at the intersection of South Providence Road and Green Meadows Road on Friday night.

Boone County Joint Communication tweeted at 8:42 p.m. that drivers should avoid the area.

Authorities blocked off Providence southbound at the intersection. Columbia firefighters were seen in the area.

An ABC 17 News crew at the scene said two cars were involved in the crash. The crew also reported seeing a driver stuck inside a vehicle that crashed into a pole.

ABC 17 is working to find what caused the crash and if any people are hurt.
