According to a spokesperson with American Airlines, Flight 2959 was diverted to Kansas City (MCI) Sunday night due to weather conditions in Columbia.

The flight had been en route to COU from Chicago's O'Hare International Airport (ORD) when it was diverted.

The diversion due to weather conditions continues to impact COU's flight schedule Monday morning. Airport Manager Mike Parks told ABC 17 News the aircraft is now scheduled to fly back to COU this morning, delaying American Airlines Flight 2960 from COU to ORD.

Originally scheduled for 7 a.m. Monday, the flight now departs from COU at 8:50 a.m.

According to the airport's website, American Airlines Flight 3177 scheduled to leave at 6 a.m. for Dallas/Ft. Worth (DFW) is also canceled.

Parks said a flight from DFW Sunday night had to be diverted back to DFW after it took off due to weather conditions, which led to Monday morning's cancellation.

American Airlines cited weather conditions as the reason behind all the flight changes.
