4 taken to hospital after crash occurs at Paris Road, Vandiver intersection in Columbia

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Four people were brought to an area hospital after a crash occurred at a busy Columbia intersection on Wednesday night.

The crash was reported at Paris Road and Vandiver Drive and led to the intersection shutting down.

Boone County Joint Communications announced the intersection was closed during an 8:09 p.m. notification. Columbia Fire Department Battalion Chief  Roger Mertensmeyer said two vehicles were involved and first responders were dispatched at 8:05 p.m.

At least one of the vehicles was seen with front-end damage.

An ABC 17 News reporter saw one person being put in an ambulance. Multiple Columbia police patrol vehicles, a firetruck and an ambulance were at the scene. Tow trucks were at the scene at 8:48 p.m.
