Katy Trail to close next week at Rocheport Bridge; I-70 traffic will not be affected

ROCHEPORT, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Katy Trail near the Rocheport Bridge will be closed next week, according to a Tuesday press release from the Missouri Department of Transportation.

Traffic on Interstate 70 will not be affected. Contractors will be setting structural steel girders over the Katy Trail, as part of the construction of the eastbound bridge, the release states.

About 1.5 miles of the trail from Rocheport to the bridge will be closed from 7 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, the release states. On Thursday, April 18 and Friday, April 19, there will be flaggers present to allow users to safely access the trail, the release states.

Signs will also be posted at the Katy Trail entrances and barricades to warn users of the closures, the release states.
