MoDOT hosts on-the-spot hiring event

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Missouri Department of Transportation hosted a hiring event Wednesday with a focus on hiring full-time maintenance workers for Columbia, Jefferson City and Versailles, according to a press release.

The event was held 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday at 830 MoDOT Drive in Jefferson City.

New employees could start working as soon as Monday, Oct. 2.

Applicants are required to be at least 18 years old and able to complete a criminal background check. They are also preferred to have a CDL permit, but assistance and training are available according to MoDOT.

The starting salary for maintenance workers is $19.08 per hour with eligibility for an additional $3-$6 per hour when working winter or emergency operations. More information can be found on MoDOT's website.
