Missouri Department of Transportation continues work on Rocheport bridge project

ROCHEPORT, Mo. (KMIZ)

Missouri Department of Transportation crews continue to work on the Interstate 70 Rocheport bridge connecting Boone and Cooper counties.

The bridge was built in 1960.

MoDOT expects the renovations to reduce crashes by 50% and extend the bridge's lifespan by 100 years.

The new bridge will be 3,120 feet long and will be a multi-span structure of five weathering steel plate girders spans over the Missouri River and 10 pre-stressed concrete girder approach spans over the Overton Bottoms.
