No injuries reported in early morning Jefferson City house fire

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A home is damaged after a fire early Friday morning in Jefferson City, according to a press release from the Jefferson City Fire Department.

The release states firefighters were called to a home in the 400 block of Locust Street just after midnight Friday for reports of a home on fire. When they arrived, they saw smoke showing from the front of a small one and one and a half story single family home.

Fire was found in the first-floor kitchen and was put out. The home has moderate fire damage on the first floor and smoke damage throughout the home, according to the release.

All occupants were outside the home when firefighters arrived. The fire was determined to be accidental.

The release states no one was injured, but an adult was displaced due to the fire.
